Overview
SSD uses license plate recognition technology with a mission to redefine security standards. With a specific focus on revolutionising license plate recognition technology in Nigeria, we aim to innovate and advance security solutions on a global scale.
Our purpose is to establish a professional and user-friendly website that provides detailed information about our LPR system, its features, and the industries it serves, ensuring businesses can easily access our services and book demos to experience our solutions firsthand.
Introduction
I spearheaded the design of a website from scratch for Safe Security Dynamics (SSD) license plate recognition technology, collaborating closely with a Product Designer Intern. Together, we aimed to create an intuitive platform that effectively communicates SSD's solutions and encourages demo bookings.
My Role
As a Product Design Intern and the design lead at SSD, I am responsible for various tasks. I conducted research while working with another Product Designer Intern, designed and guided the UX/UI designer in creating icons and illustrations and created user-friendly wireframes. Given that it's an ongoing project, I'm also responsible for conducting usability tests and building prototypes from start to finish.

Competitive analysis was conducted thoroughly for our top 3 competitors OpenALPR, Prembly and Eagle Eye Networks from which I created a Competitive Audit Report. In this report I conducted an in-depth analysis of the competitors by evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, positioning in the market, and opportunities, I also gained insights to inform the design and competitive strategy for our company's website.

User Interviews

Using the results from the user interviews, we created empathy maps to understand the users’ perspectives.
We decided to proceed with 2 personas : a general industry persona and a banking industry persona. This is because our findings resulted in 3/4 industries having similar pain points and goals with the banking industry having the only different results.
